2009 San Diego Chargers Fantasy Football Preview

2008 presented an upwardly and down year for the San Diego Chargers. The team started horribly again somehow jumped to finish 8-8 and succeeded in the AFC West of the Denver Broncos by 52-21, she opened the last week to steal the regular season. The screws then defeated Indianapolis 23-17 in the Wildcard round before they finally bowed to the eventual Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers 35-24 in the Divisional Playoff. The year saw QB Phillip Rivers emerge as one of the NFLElite, and also witnessed the first indication that LaDanian Tomlinson to be on the decline. What can I offer the 2009 Chargers fantasy owners? I now also my thoughts on this topic.

Rivers really came into his in 2009 by throwing for 4009 yds and 34 TDs with only 11's Int. Former NC State product was the point all year long despite the team struggles early and it was a joke that does not flow to the Pro Bowl, as he was clearly one of the best QB's allSeason. Rivers has this year with pretty much the same device, however offensive it will be hard to duplicate last year figures. First, as I continue to discuss in a moment, I expect to recover LT again this year and if he does, will reduce the flow numbers. Also, I do not really sold on the Chargers receivers, especially when Vincent Jackson is your number one guy. It is difficult to get on the rivers of the case, and he is certainly one of the five QB's in fantasy drafts with Manning,Brady and Brees. I would be surprised but not shocked if it exceeds its 2008-numbers. Draft him around the 3rd or 4 Round.

According to all experts Tomlinson had a "terrible" year. Since when has a terrible year 1110 a total of 12 yards and TD's new? 99% of RB's in the NFL stats this call would be a career year. It really shows you, what type of career Tomlinson, when everyone is ready to kick him off the road after an injury riddled, easily had sub-par years. Granted 3 of his TD cameat week 17, which is the fantasy equivalent of Pro Bowl week, as most leagues in the past week to close, and if I LT drafted first overall victory, I would probably have been pissed. But seriously people. Give the dude a break. I do not think LT is the next Shaun Alexander, in contrast to NFL.com 's Michael Fabiano I do not think Tomlinson has done, even though his days falling, for 28 TD, are over. From all reports I hear from San Diego, Tomlinson practiced with a chip on theShoulder and is 100% healthy and looking awesome. With Darren Sproles proves to the nation last year that he was a more than adequate replacement, despite its size, LT did not take the blows as he in the past. Sproles will remain LT should spell more this year as Tomlinson year-round fresh. LT was going anywhere from the late first round to late in the second round of the mock I did. I even got him to come back to drafting Peterson NumberA total of so much Round 3 If you get anywhere in the 2nd Tomlinson Round you commit thefts. If you draft him, just make sure that you create it later in the draft with Sproles handcuffs.

My assessment of the receiving corps is average at best chargers with Jackson the way with 1098 yards and 7 TD. According to Jackson, the Chargers Chris Chambers, Malcolm Floyd and Legedu Naanee rounding have essentially the position. Chambers I had last year and started him before hewas injured and the former Wisconsin product really nice on a TD run before his injury. He would have a hook and catch would normally go for one of the guests. Then he fell dramatically after receiving the injury and was firmly entrenched in the sequel to my bank. What do you think Jackson, a lot of people, he has the potential to get out of this year, and this belief is the fact that since he comes to the 4th to 5 CBS Sports round of mock drafts presented. In my estimationthat is too high for him but that's just my take, and if you have a feeling that he will perform, draft him. The Chargers sport a strong offensive and Jackson is without doubt the number one option to receive the team along with TE Antonio Gates. The only point out that 2008 is the first time that Jackson was more than 1000 meters and I honestly see him as no more than a number 3 receiver or flex option was. In addition, Jackson has an accumulated a number of one of those DUI'scurrently processed, and thus is a sign of risk for all owners who he chooses. In his defense, he does have Rivers threw the ball and that is certainly helping, as well as the fact that the screws is the setting up of serious crimes Points can. If you have a gut feeling about Jackson to him that I not only personally, and that feeling is more than likely avoid him on draft day. What to avoid the chambers, Naanee and Floyd, everything, until they prove that they are able to shareaccording to stats. Floyd, based on the performance of recent years is the placeholder for the Chargers Clock morning, as he has seemed to some nice chemistry and rivers form of the season.

TE Gates remains one of the elite of the NFL at that position. 2008 saw his yardage drop significantly, but on par remaied TD. Last season, 60 goals caught passes for 704 yards and 8 points. The yardage total was definitely Gates lowest production since his rookie campaign, but I do not really think thatThere is no cause for concern. First, tomorrow is 29 years, said Gates is not a factor. Moreover, the persistent toe injury and a role in his yardage is cured dropping plays and Gates seems to be 100% healthy. Finally, he is still held the No. 1 option in the potent passing attack flows. In summary, to be told, not by the slightly off-year influence that had Bill Gates in 2008. The former Kent State product still remains one of the best at his position. Draft him behind Dallas Clarkand Jason Witten only.

The Chargers DST is one of the best options for fantasy owners heading into the year 2009 for a variety of reasons. First, there Shawne Merriman this year after missing almost the entire '09 season after a knee operation. Moreover, the Chargers made their first round pick in this year draft OLB Larry English of Northern Illinois, so that the screws are a very remarkable duo at LB tying the rookie with Merriman. In addition, Sproles is a threat toReturn every punt or kickoff for a score he touches. The Chargers DST struggle early because it came at the end very much in the same way has the whole team and that it was without the services of Merriman and English. Look for this device expect one of the best fantasy option in '09 and that they are off the board for Pittsburgh, NE, and possibly the NY Jets, unquestionably strong defensively with new head coach Rob Ryan in the city. Next up: The Denver Broncos.
